... a light for the revelation of the Gentiles.

And a glory to your people Israel.

LISTEN-UP!

Do we take time to listen and hear?

YAH does speak and we will hear IF we choose to listen! Below are two of my testimonies from 2009 and then 2015. The first explains that for the majority of my life, pride prevented me from understanding what I was hearing. The 2015 example shows that YAH speaks to care for us in even the smallest areas.

“That’s not you! That’s ME!”

In a business career of 39 years I was constantly amazed at the ideas that would enter my head out of nowhere. Great ideas! So many ideas that I called them “Ed’s thousand crazy ideas”. I kept track of the ideas listing what I thought would be the top five. Deciding when to take a risk on the top idea would take a great deal of time. Remember, the man making those decisions was king in his own little world, an “intellectual Believer”, using prayer to enlist The Eternal to bless his world.

When I became a “Born Again” Believer, (6 Aug 2005, 2:00 pm) led by the Ruach, things changed. Instead of using prayer to “get my way”, I was seeking to be obedient to the leading of the Ruach.

One day, Spring 2008, I was walking to the back door of my home with an unwieldly double handful of clothes for Goodwill. As I struggled, one of “those 1,000 ideas” went through my mind. Absent-mindedly laughing, I said to myself: “There’s another one of those ‘Thousand Crazy Ideas’.” After locking the back door I turned to step down off the back porch into the back yard. Just before I took that step, I heard The-VOICE- boldly say:

“That’s NOT you!! That’s ME!!”

Hearing, I froze and dropped all the clothes. In shock all I could do was stand there noticing the beautiful deep blue of the sky, the Thames River and Long Island Sound. After 5 seconds I meekly said out loud: “L-rd, is that YOU?”

NOW! Packed Later!

Monday, 27 July 2015, I was scheduled that evening to attend a Bible study and the car was low on gas. Being early afternoon, I decided to go to the grocery store and pick up a few things and buy the gas there. Pulling into the parking lot the decision was made to buy the few grocery items and then buy the gas on the way out to home. Pulling into the cramped parking lot, a space was found and the engine shut down. At that very moment I heard

“Now! Packed later!”

Not questioning, debating or understanding, the car was restarted and the 50 foot drive to the completely not busy gas pumps was accomplished quickly. It really made no sense to abandon a hard to find parking space, to drive to gas pumps that are only servicing two cars. But again it is not necessary to question, debate or understand. Just hear and do!

Not being in any particular hurry, the task of refueling slowly progressed. Absentmindedly I looked up and realized that there was a very impatient driver waiting and looking at me. With a little more “time sensitivity” I finished and drove around to again park. Shock! Absolute shock! In the space of five minutes all the gas pumps were busy with many, many cars waiting. Where did they come from? It’s not “drive time”!

LISTEN-UP!

Prayer composed of worship, praise and thanksgiving is prayer of listening! May HIS NAME be praised, worshiped, and raised up! May we give thanks, learning to LISTEN!

Psalm 66: Complete Jewish Bible (CJB)

For the leader. A song. A psalm:

1. Shout to God, all the earth!

2. Sing the glory of his name,

make his praise glorious.

3. Tell God, “How awesome are your deeds!

At your great power, your enemies cringe.

4. All the earth bows down to you,

sings praises to you, sings praises to your name.” (Selah)

1. Amen, amen I say to you that he who does not enter into the sheepfold of the flock by the door but climbs up by another place;

he is a thief and robber.

2. But he who enters by the gate is the shepherd of the flock.

3. And to this man the gatekeeper opens the gate and the flock hears his voice and his sheep he calls by their names and he leads

them out.

4. And when he leads out his flock he goes before it and his sheep go after him because they know his voice.

20. Behold, I have been standing at the door, and I will knock: if any man hear my voice and open the door, I will come in to him, and

will dine with him, and he with me.

21. And to him that is victorious, to him will I give to sit with me on my thrown, even as I was victorious and sat down with my Father

on his thrown.

22. He that has ears to hear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the assemblies.’”
