LISTEN-UP!

Go In -- There!

November 2013, having just leased a condo in a four unit building I was actually looking forward to caring for the small patch of green out front and in back. I was happy because I was no longer caring for two acres! 33 years in a house with two acres, plus running a business 12 hours a day will make one happy to see the the snow fly! Sweet hibernation until spring when it all cycles around, again! Praise YAH!

By May of 2014, it was time to find a mower. Not any mower! One of those antique rotary ones with no gas, fumes, or repairs. On my daily six mile walk/prayer, I started placing my request before YAH. I still remember the specific prayer: “YAH you gave us a wonderful place to live. Now I need a mower. An antique one like people put out as a lawn ornament, but I want mine to work and I can’t afford more than $35.00.

It was not one of my most urgent prayers. In two hours of walking\praying there were far greater needs. But then one day I realized the grass is getting out of control. Now my prayer became more urgent. Finally after two weeks of praying, I was walking north on College Ave getting ready to make a right turn onto Main St heading home. Before I came to the intersection I plainly heard The-VOICE- say: “Go in there!”, meaning the little shopping center across Main St. OK! Not hesitating, I crossed Main St and walked the sidewalk next to a little set of store fronts that I had never before seen. In front of the third store were all sort of household items. Then I stopped cold! Sitting right there was my antique, rotary, hand push, mower. Exactly what I had been praying for two weeks. It sat in front of an estate sale business. The price tag said $60.00 and it looked in excellent condition. This day was 14 May 2014 and the tag sale would run from 15-18 May 2014. It occurred to me that I wanted to be there 8:00 am at the opening so I would not miss it, but I started praying for guidance. The-VOICE- quietly responded: “The last hour. The last day” What!? What! By then it would be sold! BUT! Long ago I learned to be obedient to what I am told!

On Sunday, 18 May 2015, the last hour of the estate tag sale, my wife and I went to the store. Logic told me that the mower would be gone. Trusting YAH, I knew it would be there. It was and so was it’s $60.00 price tag. I went in and asked if the mower was still for sale. She smiled and said: “Yes it is and everything is half off.” I had not even considered that there would be a reduction in cost. So now it was $30.00, but then I thought to check and see if it worked. I looked down at it and said out loud to my wife: “If YAH is giving this to us, it will work and I need not check. I walked inside and bought it. The same young lady looked at me and said: “That will be $34.94.” Do you remember my prayer? I asked for no greater than $35.00! The reciept was saved. What an awesome Elohim we serve! I have used that mower now two years without any problems. All I did was sharpen the blades, a ten minute event.

What an awesome Elohim we serve. Even with the smallest things in our lives YAH will hear us. It’s not that YAH does not speak to us. We need to seek HIM and ---- LISTEN-UP!
